Needle Felting Courses
Below you will find information about the Autumn course prospectus, please note that this is subject to change or cancellation. Places can be booked but no payment will be taken at this time.
I appreciate that there are some who will not be happy with this as they have reservations about the vaccine however I have a responsibility towards all those on the course to make the environment as safe as possible, from experience I know that many of you are vulnerable or are responsible for caring those who are in this position.
The following workshops will be held in Islesteps Hall.
The hall is located just a couple of miles from Dumfries on the Solway Coastal road. Full directions will be given when booked.

There will be a sales table on the day and payment for both the course and any sales can be made by credit/debit card, cheque or cash.
You will need to bring a packed lunch with you, Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided and available throughout the day. Please bring your own cup to meet with the present guidelines, these can not be provided.
I try to make the day as informal as possible and give out notes etc to take home to remind you of what we have covered as well as ideas to work on in class.
Needle Felting - Basics and Beyond
Sunday 17th OCtober 10.30 - 3.30
This class is suitable for those who have never needle felted before as well as those who have done a previous course with me and just want to improve their skills.
For those who are just learning we will do three items: a brooch, a landscape and a choice of a third item. For those who want to improve their skills and play with new ideas probably already know what to expect...lots of fleece, backgrounds, ideas and inspiration and will be given the opportunity to ‘dive in’ and play.
All materials are supplied with a wide selection of hand dyed and natural coloured fleece to choose from. You will also be supplied with foam, needles and worksheets to take home with you.
Wall Hanging Sea, Mountains or Lochs 10.30 - 3.30
This class will be combined witht eh BIG Picture on Saturday 23rd October 10.30 to 3.30
We will be making a wall hanging using different fleeces, lots of texture and various techniques. There are three different themes; Coastal with lighthouse, Mountains and heather or a landscape with trees and loch. There is no pre-set size. The sample ones will be 22in long by 8in wide but you may like to make yours larger or smaller. A larger piece of foam will be required for this and this will be supplied.
COST: £28.00 includes all materials and equipment.
Saturday 16th October TWO PLACES. Sunday 24th October FULLY BOOKED
Each table has something different to try!
Dye some fleece, fabric and thread, do a simple weaving, try a bit of wet felting,
make some silk paper, learn some stitch techniques and how to embellish your felted creations.
A fun experimental day and you go home with a stash and projects to work on through the winter! Don’t forget to bring a basket for all those goodies or perhaps you may want to fabric stencil a bag on the day!
The Big Picture
Saturday 23rd October 10.30 - 3.30
In this workshop we will be working on a large picture. The mount will be supplied with the course and will then fit a 20 x 16 frame.
I will have a box of pictures and photos to give you inspiration however you are welcome to bring along your own idea.
We will be using hand dyed fleece, batting and roving and I will be sharing tips and techniques with you. Those who have already done this course are welcome to come and do another landscape.
COST: £28, This includes a larger piece of foam plus a quality mount to take home with you.
Cosy up for Winter.
Saturday 20th November or Sunday 12th December, 10.30 to 3.30
Felt a cushion and fill with pure lambs
wool for the ultimate cosy feeling. These cushions are small enough to fill the lower back area giving it extra warmth as well as extra comfort.
Making Felted Gifts
Sunday 21st November or Saturday 11th December, 10.30 to 3.30
Christmas is just around the corner. have a fun day getting together some handmade Christmas Gifts. This will be a day to relax, play and just enjoy preparing for the festive season.
